CS64 Clipboard Problem

I can copy items to the clipboard from any layer within PS CS4 and insert them in any other layer, but when I copy a graphic from another program - I have tried Word, Outlook and Snaggit - the previous item I copied in PS is the only item that copies to the selected layer. There is no sign of the item I copied from elsewhere. I am using Windows 7 64 bit as my OS and have 4 GB of RAM. I had no problem with CS3 in XP. If I copy the item on the clipboard, copied say from Word, it copies correctly into Outlook etc, but not to PhotoShop. Can anyone help me resolve this problem

Clipboard Problem Mysteriosly Solved

I tried copying the image into Illustrator that I had wanted to add to Photoshop. It worked exactly as it should. I then copied that image from Illustrator onto my clipboad and then copied the clipboard into Photoshop - No problem, except there was a white rectangle above the image that resulted from the discrepancy in the size of the Illustrator page.

Then, lo and behold, Photoshop started functioning as it should copying external images from the Clipboard onto a new layer which it automatically created, just like CS3 always did !

What a rediculous way to have to solve an unnecessary and inexplicable problem.
