After Effects Classic Zombie Stabbing Effect

Here's a short behind the scenes of my upcoming Zombie Jitsu short film.

A lot of the effects in the short will be done using After Effects and Video Copilot's Action Essentials blood elements. But in respect to the true horror genre, we had to do something "real". So we built a Torso prop, attached a blood pack (Ziplock bag filled with fake blood) and stabbed it with a sharpened spear.

After that, the footage was brought into After Effects, the green screen replace with the proper background. I added a few blood elements using Action Essentials and I am quite happy with the result. It does have a certain "cheese" factor to it but that's exactly what I wanted, an homage to good old fashion Horror Filmmaking

Yup..... that's a good one.

Great way to get the effect you wanted. I'd say its what the big leaguers would also do.

Keep it up.... would love to see the finished product.
