Circle in Time

I seem to be on a Photoshop manipulation trip these days. I spent about ten hours on this one. A lot of that time deleting, redoing, adding, subtracting . . . you know the drill.

Time is my motif for this and my last manipulation, Out of Time. I am hoping that this one is not too cliched. The surrealist theme of weirdly warped clocks and such.

I was inspired by the premade background from deviantarts.com: premade_bg_world_of_tolkien_2_by_e_dina-d4zpa1t, and its surreal qualities appealed to me. That and my obsession with glowing globes!

Both models are by faestock on deviantarts.
The clock in the sky and within the globe is the_passage_of_time_by_ponti55-d37vp63.
The fairy carriage and the clock on the post were both found on retail sale sites through google search.
I'll post the pic sources later.

This is the final version. All the earlier stages have been deleted.

Beautiful , clare. A different feel from the past one's you've created.

OK... Cinderella's carriage on 2nd image is better.

Maybe try lowering the opacity of the girl in background to make the clock stand out better?

Tx dv8. Do you know how many times I have changed the blend mode and opacity of that leaping lady!?! I ain't gunna; I just ain't gunna. Well, maybe later. But IDK why you think the clock doesn't stand out because of her. But I will look with fresh eyes tomorrow. There's always something to notice when you have gotten some objective distance. And you are fresh. Or so I have heard, lol.

Yipes, I just realized I haven't done the hair. I don't mess around quite as much as I used to with channels and refine mask to get the curls and flyaways. On this one, I ignored them altogether. Just as bunch of good brushes for hair and problem solved. So, job for tomorrow.

For me it's your best to date, lovely colours used and very subtle blending.

Thank you Paul. I was moved to tone down the color by recent posts of Cindy Grundsten, and my Inkz. Probably a few others, lurking in my subconscious. As much trolling as I do around art sites looking for stocks, I'm sure these things have moved me to imitate, imitation being a high form of flattery, right?

As I said in my other post (Out of Time), I need to slow down and look at these things with fresh eyes before I post them in their inadequate states. I have added another element to complete the circle of objects. I don't think it's too much, but I think I'll wait a bit before posting yet another correction or whatever. Like I said, I totally missed working on the sharp angles of the hair. I like the brushing of curls and hair strands, so I imagine I'll get to that today. Eventually I'll post the new and "improved" I hope version.

Give it up egosbar, you're never going to finish your car project, the never-ending challenge. (have you seen hoogle's post on that; it's a sticky, lol)

Besides, you and I have to concentrate on finishing up the Challenge 8 project today (4pm my time, 4.5 hrs away) and set up the voting thread. But no fear, I'll do that and you can make your appropriate comments in the new thread.

Totally love it..
I seem to be on a Photoshop manipulation trip these days.

Got the bug then ... i have , it's infectious , ... just can't leave these manipulations alone... only because i want to improve and some day teach others when i'm good enough like you guys.

I love that floor image .. i have put it on my cell floor... now i can contemplate on the amount of space it gives me in such a small area of the ward... I have thought of so many ways to use it. ( escape route mainly in to that lovely serial world ).

Thank you.
