Changing text while keeping background??

First off, I am glad to be a part of the forum. Happy to be here and ready to seriously up my skills in photoshop. My first project, I need to change some text on an image but the background that the text is in front of is pretty sophisticated. Is there anyway at all to change this text, but without changing the background? Or Maybe remove both but then re create the background?? Any help would be extremely helpful guys

Its a template for a school Id that I have to modify for one of my classes as the project....or something I plan on using for other things, whichever one you want to believe. Lol naw this really isnt the image, Im on my girlfriends computer and dont have the image itself, but an id is the closest thing I could think of being the same. It would be exactly like trying to change this, something with a complicated background like that.

haha naw man, I know yall probably arent gonna believe me. It really is for a class project. Im in college right now for nutrition but have to take computer class. We are having to make ourselves a little name tag with our pic and some info for our first project and the template I am already using just has a confusing background like an id. A tough one to replicate. thats why I used the id as an example.

The good thing about good id's is they are very good at NOT letting you chop with them.
Your best bet is a complete restart, new back ground new image of you new overlay of back ground in parts then a text layer then more overlays of background in parts.
The site also frowns upon school/college work that students come here asking for how to's or even do it for me's...
I seriously doubt very much that a school project is asking for you to fake an ID badge/card.
When you have the actual image you need us to manipulate we might but very doubtful help/show you.
A good start is from scratch as i outlined earlier in my reply.
