Hi,

I am a newbie to PS and would like to know how to change the background of the below photo. The main reason is to remove the harsh shadow but I would also like to experiment with different backgrounds. Any help would be appreciated. Please feel free to repost the photo with any changes you made. I am using PS CS3.

Thanks. I used the removing backgrounds instruction using select > color range but when I try to use the expand feature to tighten in to remove the shadow at the right hand side, it tightens in on all of the selection all around the girl and I lose sections of her.

hey
Try removing the girl from the background instead. (rather than the other way around)
Use the LASSO tool
cheers
