changing background color of image

i want to change background color of my image which is png file there is a red flower n background is white plz help me n provide the details
my image has png file bg color is red n flowers which green now i want to change bg red to black

Under Select/Color range you can select just the white. But if it's lo-res already, don't hold high hopes it'll be pretty.
