Adobe has a deal for registered CS6 users -the whole thing for $19.95 a month. So, I signed up and paid my first $19.95. That is an affordable and good deal to me. Two hundred and forty dollars a year sure beats the heck out of nearly $600 a year as originally advertised. It will probably go up after a year, but I'll get that much use out of it, no problem.

it is only good for this year though and that offer expires at the end of the month. However there is rumors as of August they are repricing again to cheaper. They extened this offer from the end of MAY to the End of July for CS6 users but the question is will it be as good as you think in August or will they offer a better arrangement for a period of 2 years.

YEs if you only use photoshop it is still a good deal as you now get all the programs but if you already owned the cs6 master suite for example your basically paying for the product twice there is minimal differences between cs6 and cc at the moment and I hardly see that changing any time this year.

But I am not complaining as I got the same deal as you and then a better deal from a Government funded project meaning my whole creative suite is only $9.95 a month for the first year and on top of that I can write it off as an expense for tax reasons finally the perks of becoming self employed have started to show.

Indeed! I only had PS CS6, so the others are a bonus. I have wished quite a few times I had AI so I could learn it, but $600.00 wasn't in my plan. Saw my chance and took it. It may not last but a year at this price, but it's well worth that. Also prompted me to make some changes on my internet speed. I have a 1.5Mps connection and it took the better part of 3 hrs to d/l all the stuff related. I have 10Mbs service being installed next Wednesday! Thank goodness.

I must confess I am not a huge AI user but I am trying to use it more and more for simple things I make myself do it in AI but that aside as you develop more you will find yourself using the programs you never even knew existed. I often start a project off in 1 program and then by the end of it have 5 + adobe programs open on my taskbar lol.

The best features of ps cc in my opinions are the illustrator way of dealing with shapes able to adjust rounded corners now and tweak it whenever you like has proven very useful but the top filter for me is the fact they have now finally added camera raw as a filter you can use from the filter menu. It is about time and I never understood why they didnt do this ages ago.

I have used Corel Draw for a long time in the real work I used to do. So, I am very familiar with using vectors. I actually import from PS to Corel both bitmap and vector content. You can export your paths in PS to Ai and I then import the vectors into Corel if it's more convenient to do something like that. Some of the custom vector shapes in PS work really well when I am making cut files for my laser. Ai will make that process a lot easier too. If I use my laser for cutting anything, it has to be in vector format and a hairline line size.

I notice the Image Size menu is different too. Don't know what else yet. Seems I saw where the sharpening filters are improved. I just got it this afternoon, so haven't had time to check out the new things.

I'm a photographer type..got the full student version for $199. Not really needing anything but basic letters / graphics PS and a few plug in filters is all I need. Even at 9.95 a month...it gets pricey unless a business write off. That helps a bit, but you still need to make $$$ and pay Adobe ? No thanks...I will stick with my OWN product .....funny how the terms keep changing as more complain...or is that just me ?

Nope..... with the amount of feedback and comments regarding CC and it's price/service arrangements, I'm not surprised if CC may phase out or that adobe will continue the CS line in one way or another to get back the lost market of PS users lost for refusing to subscribe.

It's all going to depend on what kind of revenue stream the CC creates. I doubt that Adobe (a large public corp.) really cares much about anything other than creation of profit for their stockholders. If this proves to bring a constant source of predictable revenue then it will remain. Even at $20.00 a head per month, the revenue coming in may exceed the amount that was being generated by individual sales and upgrades. If that proves out, then it is a simple business decision at that point. It's much easier to manage a subscription based revenue stream than it is a hit and miss conventional sales effort. They are looking at other successful businesses with this model..i.e. Dish Network etc. I think the eventual price for this will end up being more than the $20 but less than $50. If it's priced too high it fails. Anytime you can get a large number of people to agree to let you extract money from your account every month then you have accomplished a great degree of control over your business.

This remains to be seen.

I'm still stuck with CS4. No complaints except when opening files created in later CS with advanced effects and functions. Or at a loss on how to help out with advanced CS queries.

But I'm still happy with it considering I use PS in tandem with other applications for my real job design use. Its not like I need or miss the advanced functions of 6 not present in 4 a lot in my work.

Still... I have to keep up with technology. Definite plan is to upgrade to 6 . If the need for CC warrants it, I may have to jump into the bandwagon.

Well, I was pretty skeptical before I did this, but I'm pretty impressed so far. I had some difficulty getting the Adobe Application Manager to download and install, so I called customer service as the message said to do. I get this fella in India (by the way, all Adobe support is there now). Make a long story short, he connected to my computer, fixed the things that needed to be fixed and downloaded what I understood to be something fairly new. It's a program that you just open from the desktop and pick the app you want to download or update and it's automatic from there. It does the download, the extraction and the install without you having to do anything else. This morning when I turned on my machine there was a notification that there was 3 updates, one for PS CC. one for PS CS6 and Bridge. I gave it permission and it did it all from there and reported back when finished. By the way, the guy in India spent 1-1/2 hours on this and wanted to be sure everything was working right..my goodness..he probably cost Adobe more than the $19.95 I had given them for the first month.
Also, the PS CC has one thing I really like, they made Camera Raw a filter so you can open it from a working document, make changes and continue working. I still say cool for the money. I am now going to proceed to use Ai, probably Lightroom and Dreamweaver. The PS is full version with 3d too, which I didn't have. I'll have my 10Mbs connection in next week and I am adding 4 more GB of ram to my computer...so I am a Happy Camper at the moment.
(Oh, and I got a HP monitor this week to use with my laptop..Tom talked me into it and there is a huge amount of difference from the Dell laptop screen)

I have to say I signed up too - having only had lightoom before and an ancient photoshop and I think its well worth it, I'm lucky though as having a child at school gets it at an education rate which is very well priced, plus now I can play with all sorts - I even stripped a voice off a song for kicks the other day, just because I thought I'd open up a new program to see what it was!

What you said about customer support is excellent too - very good service.

I'm sure if you and I were sitting in the board room at Adobe, some high up officer is going to say "Ok guys you started this, you better make it work" (otherwise -off comes your head and a chunk out your butt). So you can bet that all the folks are being instructed the same way and intend to win customers with aggressive pricing and great customer service. However, I saw this and I wonder why it is. It went up some more after he sold it apparently.
