I know this is super common question and problem but all the solutions I see offered either do not apply or don't fix my issue. I used to be a regular photographer and Photoshop user but I stepped away from it for a couple of years. I sold my camera equipment and have not opened my PS for a long time. I recently decided to take up photography again and bought a very basic camera (Canon T5).
Upon trying to open files in CR, I get the error message "Camer RAW editing is not enabled, Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been...blah blah" I know that CR has to be updated to be compatible with my new camera. The T5 requires 8.4 minimum. Mine is 7.0.0.708 in CS6 ver.13.0x64 Incidentally, I can not seem to open CR files from my old archives either.
Anyhow most of the solutions I have found tell me to go here https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html#9_8 and update but I get another error message every time. "Unable to expand zip file into downloads-Error 2 no such file or directory". I also do not seem to have the Adobe updater anymore either. The little icon that should be on my Mac OS X 10.12 menu bar.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
