Can't select foreground color. Help

i have photoshop cs5 for mac and whenever i go to select a color from the color swatches it always chooses a background color and i have to click the swap button. It just recently started doing this and i have no idea how or what made it happen. How do i make it select foreground colors by default?

Not sure what exactly you have in mind Trevor but try Colour Range under Select menu This will select a specific colour (and it's tones if necessary). Hope that helps.

I've never seen that happen. If no other guru suggests something better, I say re-install Photoshop. Since that's such a hassle, it may be worth giving Adobe an email.

Before reinstalling PS try resetting your Preferences file.
