Can't "Save As" Suddenly...

When trying to save a graphic I've composed as a jpg or other file type, I'm suddenly getting the following prompt:

"Could not save...because that document is currently open. Save using a different name, or close the document and try again".

Nothing seems to work, and this machine/software have never had problems in the past.

Suggestions?

Sorry, I am not an expert, but did you try flattening the image first. I have had that happen where I was editing and the action actually created a duplicate and when I went to save it it would not because of the same thing. you can try minimizing it and closing the original if the image won't flatten. I would also try "merging" the layers so you have one open image. I could be totally off base. but worth a try?
