Can't print a solid gray background on laser printer using Photoshop, help please

I'm trying to print a picture of old bottles that I photographed on a light gray background, I'm running Photoshop CC. The bottles print fine, but my background won't print solid. I get a wide gray streak and then a wide white streak repeated across the page, not solid gray. I'm printing on a Canon laser printer. Can anyone help me, I've tried many different settings but nothing works. The machine isn't dirty, other pictures print fine. I also have a new toner cartridge. Thanks.

Hi @hmunster123
Do you believe this is a printer problem or a Photoshop problem, or are you unsure?
If you think it is a printer problem, then there are forums dedicated to printers, such as https://www.printerknowledge.com , that may be a good resource as well.

Either way you go, it is best to provide more information, such as printer model if you are on a PC or Mac, and also, if possible, post the file you are printing and a photo of the result you are seeing once printed (picture is worth a thousand words)

This will allow for more targeted/focused suggestions.
Just a suggestion

This particular low end B&W laser printer is not designed for great photos yet the issue you have seems a bit odd.
Here are general recommendations
- Make sure you have downloaded and are using the most recent printer driver for the printer
- Make sure you have used the Cleaning cycle under the Maintenance section of the manual
- You were not specific yet there is a mode for printing photos in the online manual and that should be set. Unfortunately, the online manual does not share the advanced settings you can use.

Here is a link to the Canon manual https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-0632-zz-SS-enUV/contents/04030120.html

Here is the page on particular document settings:

Here is a snapshot out of the maintenance section on the cleaning cycle

Hope that helps
