Hi,

I made a logo but i want to add some gradient to seperate layers but it says it is not possible and i always get a error message and i just can't solve this... .

Here's an image:

I couldn't picture what steps you could have done to get to this stage and get what you are trying to achieve. Are you applying the gradient fill to say the red fill layer to get a dark to light red gradient ellipse? If so, did you.... click/select the layer ONLY ..... OR CTRL+click FILL Layer icon..... CTRL+click LAYER MASK ICON? I'm on a PC not sure what the Apple Equivalent is.

You can't add a gradient to a shape layer.

rasterize it then your good to go

Yeah but the weird is that it gives another gradient color then i choose.. for example i choose i orange with yellow effect but it gives me red with white most of the time.. .

And to the people that say that it isn't possible to add gradient ot shape layers.. here's the proof that IT IS possible.. :

You see????Pay attention the nice gradient added to the red shape.. to the left it is more yellow/orange effect and that is what i want to see..

Btw:EVEN IN THE TEXT IS GRADIENT ADDED imo..

You can do it with a layer style, but you can't use the gradient tool directly on the shape layer as you were trying to do.

But i'm never satisfied of the sharpeness of my image though.. now.. i tried with 'select all' and sharpen it all together but then i get some bad things on my letters and stuff so i delete the sharpen effect..

Ya , the layer style. Good call hawkeye, you've got an eagle's eye.

What size and resolution did you do that in? When I do small logos, I use 150 or 300dpi . Your logo looks good euff. Then agin I'm not using glasses right now.D

Double click on the brush layer to bring up the layer styles palette and click on the words "gradient overlay". Then click on the black/white gradient box, choose your gradient, click okay and it will add it to your brush.

Hey guys i don't know if you read my earlier posts but i already found it.. :yes the answer i was searching for was "gradient overlay" via blending options..

It's annoying that you can't edit the title of the topic on this forum to add "solved".. then can everybody better see that there is no extra help needed though..
