Can you point me in the right direction for an electric effect?

Hi,

I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of the electric effect in this:

500px.com/photo/3244045 (sorry had to split as I can't post links yet :()

I'm guessing its going to be something along the lines of a few lines with a glow effect, or perhaps a brush but if anyone has seen a lightning\electric tutorial that would be great.

Also the processing of the model himself looks quite interesting - any idea?

Ta.

You're most likely going to have to do some intense color effects with the brush, and area specific shading to create the appropriate shadows. I couldn't find a tutorial but look up the top result in Google for "useful lightning effect photoshop brushes". There's a few in there that seemed appropriate to what you're looking for. Hope this helps!

I see what you;re saying - the highlights on the shift for example.
Hopefully I'll get that part in teh oroginal shot (lol, well hopefully anyway!)

Some very cool brushes there - thanks

Hi,

I just realised I never followed up on the results - how rude of me!!

Anyway in the end I could not get the brush to do what I wanted as they had too much extra image data beyond just the lightning itself, so I ended up hand drawing them with my old tablet - I did try with the brushes for about an hour or so before giving up!

The end result wasn't quite what I'd aimed for but I was pretty happy at the time.
