Can someone help me look better in this photo?

Today I drew peoples blood for the first time. I had a friend take a picture and I'd like to save it, but unfortunately I have this huge cold sore that in my opinion takes away from the memory and makes the picture look bad.

Would making a change like this be difficult? I am not expecting miracles, but if the picture could be photoshopped to look a bit better I would be grateful. My photoshopping experience is limited to just cropping stuff with gimp and I once whiten my teeth with gimp by desaturating the color or something. So not really that much experience. If this only takes a couple of seconds to fix I would really appreciate it if someone could fix it for me. If it is a little more complicated, can some point me at the tools (ex. crop tool) I'd need to look up to fix this problem myself?

I think you're a good looking guy already (with nice manners btw :mrgreen: ) but I'll give it a shot. Where to start . . . like I said, it can't need much.

BTW, John Doe? That's what they call unidentified dead men! You don't fit quite my conception of dead.

And where's the top of your head?!

I think I may have overdone this a bit, but if you aren't show it to a batch of photography students, you should be OK. Trying to get a nice date on pickups.com? :mrgreen:

Now don't be telling me you wanted me to take off your gloves and replace thet est tubes with something less bloody! That fix is called "cropping!"
 
Thank you so much! It looks a lot better. I wasn't expecting it to turn out that good. You can't even tell I had a cold sore any more.

By the way I just joined the site and I always have problems remembering usernames that aren't already taken so the name was just something I thought would be easy to remember. And I know it wasn't that great of a picture to start with, but as I said my friend took it and neither of us are professionals, I just wanted something to remember it by. The photo is really just for facebook. Thanks for all the complements and thanks again for doing this for me!
