I have text then i add a background to it to make button for website template. Now every time i update text i have to resize background manually.

Is there easy way to automatically resize background horizontally based on the text length (background itself is simple single color object, all styling done trough layer style).

Bottom version is working example of background that follows the text, done using layer style with two "Stroke" (outside, fill type - pattern) , however as you can see it looks ugly.

  • Create a new layer, below your text layer
  • fill it with the color of your choice
  • apply pattern
  • Apply stroke (inside)
  • Merge layers
If the background in your images is always going to be the same (color, texture and stroke)
you can make a action for it and than it will be easier and you will not have to repeat the process every time.

HI PutinHulio
If the text is already vertically bounded and now is larger than the present boundary, just use Image > Reveal All. Canvas will expand horizontally to the new boundaries.
Not sure that covers all the interesting cases yet that is what you mentioned as you issue
Hope this helps
