Brushes not where should be.

OK so i have just had a new hard drive installed on my laptop, which all my photoshop presets have been lost :sad:. I went looking for some new brushes for a texture I'm work on for the falloutNV game, but i seem to be having a problem i never had last time. Basically when i installed new brushes last time they all had there own set like Basic Brushes, DP Brushes, Brushes etc. However now when i install brushes open PS and click brushes i get Basic Brushes plus those i downloaded but it shows up as no actual set selected. When i do select a set, say DP Brushes, i get those but all my downloaded ones are gone and i cant find them. Am i doing something wrong? its been a little while since i used PS.
 
Make sure you put them in the right location.. Every time i have downloaded brush sets i have never had to install them. I just had to put them in the correct directory...
 
if you redid your harddrive Most likely everything you downloaded to the old one is still on the old one, only your operating system is probably on new one.
 
Sadly i cant get them off my old drive because it was from a laptop and it seems i need specific cable to get them to them off plus the reason why i had to have a new drive was because the old one was failing and could barely manage being at the windows screen so i never retrieve them :sad:. However good news is that i remembered u have to put them in the bushes folder via the appdata folder not the program files like so many websites told me, thanks for the help guys.
 
I'm confused. do you have them now?
 
Yes sorry, i have the brushed i DL and are installed. Sadly the hundreds of brushes and my work from my old hard drive are all gone forever,the drive was too badly damaged.
