had an original image of this brdige and just kinda made it into a painting. what would you guys do to it to made it look cooler?
 
Give me the orig and I'll shop up some wicked madness. ;)
 
oh nice man, how did u do the last 2? i really like the one with the black background, and the last one is sweet too man

Same here;
very much like the Arthur Rackham paintings and illustrations - dark brown and sombre!
 
I really couldn't tell you EXACTLY how I did them..But the essential part is the Optipix 'select edges' plug in from Reindeer Graphics. Using the filter, not neccessarily how it is intended to be used, can render some great line work from any image, to which you can apply color, styles etc. and incorporate into your photo. Then I use different levels of posterization and apply as well. And, it's all about choosing the correct colors (as in number 3 and 4)
 
Used a copy of the background, darkened, flattened and then a touch of unsharp mask.
brings out the clouds and highlights the bridge a bit more.
 
same idea here - but using multiply instead of darken, for more dramatic effect
 
This is just too fun.

And so far, I like Moth's one the best. Neat idea. :righton:
