Always been a fan of the Maximum Ride books for a while now. Using a template I found online I created my own version a book cover. I think it came out alright.

Very nice work man, my I make a suggestion, perhaps adding a contour to the edge on top of a book would help although the angle may make it tough
 
I see the curve from the bottom up to about where the sky background starts on each side but it fades away, I'm on iPad but I'll look later on omputer. Not sure but I think a subtle small embossed to the area may help. But it's that preference thing with me again. What you did is very good!
 
Looking at the pic I noticed part of the original back ground was still there, probably the curve you was talking about iDad. Removed it, added a slight bevel and emboss to the book also a slight custom gradient to it as well.

There you go now you'll only have to fix that area by the window with a naked lady in it next to the wing;)
