Hopefully you can still see the details. I know I can.

very cool, maybe if you define ears area a bit better, it will be easily recognized as a wolf

Not to knock it but I believe where the leg is near the snout, should be defined also, that area kind of blends in too much and makes it look flat

The leg I might be able to fix, but looking at the original photo of the wolf the ears are going to be hard to do. Here is the original so ya know what I mean.

thats a cool image, maybe if you define on that original image, where the head and ears are outlined with shading(up close I can see it) a saturation layer with the color of shading that is already on the wolf may do it(blur the color that you use, before merging(just a tought)

:thumbsup:if you think, I think. I don't think too much I don't want to hurt the brain cells I have left

Maybe so on the saturation and blur Tracy (looks like a quick deal which we all do at times), but it looks pretty good to me. I agree blue is tough, though I really like the idea of blue flame which suggests very hot. I just maintain that flames are never just one color or even just variations of one color.

Hershy, I like what you've started. Instead of posting your edits in the first post, could you just post them in the series of postings? I know I suggested editing once to keep the image in the same place, but that was for a challenge, not to confuse viewers. Now I'm confused as to what the latest img is and what is receiving the critique.

One of the things you could try in order to define the details that are not clear, is to make a duplicate of the original layer, desat to B&W, place it above and either drop the opacity or change the blend mode and change opacity if necessary. Then you can mask and use a soft or med-soft brush, varying opacity, to delete where you don't want the details.

A million stories, paints a picture:mrgreen:

you're right flames are not one color or variations of a color. I dunno what other color I could of added to this one, but for what it is I think it works as is.

At first glance I thought it was a Polar Bear lol... But I now see the wolf.

It's a cool idea, but I'm not so sure the blue and fire will ever go together. Also, maybe have the flames coming off the wolf, rather than just it looking like an overlay.

Flames are not always orange/red, blue flames are the state of pureness and are actually hotter than red/orange ones.

You try and help some people improve the knowledge base and this is what you get in reply:bustagut:
