hi all

for some reason i have black guide lines around my ps workspace like below and they are getting annoying as it starts overlapping the work area when i zoom in etc! i dont know if i have hit a shortcut key and activated something etc and nothing in view>show that is enabled

but can someone advise on how to get rid of it?

Mac OS X 10.5.8, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120, cs4 photoshop

its not graphic card / mac based issue i think as its only photoshop that the line appears

im trying to attach a snapshot but it does not seem to be getting uploaded

Go to guides grids and slices in pref> change them to something your comfortable with or >view>show and shut them off (uncheck them)

sure sounds like show layers edges to me

If you continue to refuse to read what people write or make assumptions about specific tools, then why bother to reply iDad or am I now really being unfair? :)

He clearly states:

A - He talks about black lines around his worksspace

Layer edges have nothing to do with the workplace.

This is what a layer edge is:

A border around a layer (with content) that is smaller than your canvas.

B - He talks how they overlap his work area when he zooms

Layer edges always stay the same size when you zoom in and never overlap content of that layer.

Someone has to give you something to say might as well be me.

I know, it's tough when someone points out with indisputable facts that you didn't read properly and that you don't know how layer edges actually work, you'll get over it eventually. ;)

here is link to a pic of issue

this keeps randomly appearing and disappearing, and as you can see s very annoying when i zoom in to an image

Ok, this must be a curse, because yesterday I lost my long reply to this thread because of a failure on the forum, today I tried again and accidentally closed the wrong browser tab. :D

So I'm going to keep it really short now if you don't mind;

update your video driver and check if you have similar settings in the Mac version:

i just got to the bottom of this yesterday (well someone else did on experts exchange)!

in universal access , voice over was enabled and as i never have the sound on due to being in an office i never noticed!

was a silly one and nothing to do with pshop at the finish! but was annoying all the same

all the input appreciated tho guys so cheers

You didn't test by closing all applications first that were running in the background?! That's always the first thing I do! Oh well, I'm happy to see that everthing works fine again. ;)
