Hi,

I need suggestions on the best way to clean up this flower photo. I'm referring to the brown spots and streaks at the top and inside of the petals. (Click on it for larger detail.)

Thanks for any tips.

I like the spot healing brush for things like this. Zoom way in, make your brush small, and brush over the brown spots. It will clean them right up. For the edges I would likely use the clone stamp to keep the detail, but if you don't want to do that make a selection around the area you want to "heal" or the colors will smudge into each other.

Here's what happened when I spent literally 5 minutes doing what I described above. It's not perfect but I think it's pretty close and with a little care you could do better. :)

Thank you so much! That worked great. I totally forgot about the Healing Brush. I'm not too good with the clone tool, but fortunately the healing brush did the job. Thanks for the tip about making a selection so the colors don't run into each other. I was having a problem with some of that.

Thanks again!

Just want to say a quick thanks to Sierra, I've often had issues with the colours smudging and it never occurred to me to use the selection trick!
Thanks for the tip!!
