Beholder sneak peak

I made this for a larger piece I'm doing, but I wanted to post it anyway. I'm going to do corrections and cleanup on it when I blend it with the larger scene. Once again, this about 90% photo and 10% digital paint to tie everything together. D&D geeks enjoy.

There's a 3d model version I know of. But yours is more radical looking. A real creepy.

Paul: I will try to compile some source images, but there are soo many. I can tell you that the head photo I used was Dick Cheney. The eyes talks were various mouse tails, octopus arms, and snakes. for the hide I used a combo of armadillo and turtle hide. The teeth are from one of those deep see nightmare fish. The sclera of the eye is human but the iris is a spider eye. Oh and there's a partridge in a pear tree in there somewhere.

dv8: The layers can definitely get ridiculous. For me though, as soon as I'm happy with the placement of the part I'm working on, I merge the layers and name it. Sometimes I get in trouble if I needed to change something, but generally that works out pretty good.

Thank you. They're actually much worse than just how they look. If your not familiar with Beholders from Dungeons and Dragons, they shoot all kinds of nasty death and disintegration rays out of each of those little eyes, and the main eye puts out a large anti-magic cone at all times. They're racial supremacists, xenophobic and severely paranoid. Just nasty pieces of work.
