Illustrator Beginner Question: Remove Shadow Effect..

Hi, how can I remove the shadow effect under the blue object??
I am using Illustrator CS6, thanks.

The best way would be to use the pen tool to trace that shape including the 90 degree angles and fill it with white.

If you don't use the pen tool, you could use the quick select tool, set hardness to 100%, select the white. Zoom in to adjust your line, if necessary refine edge. Fill the selection with white. There are other ways, but this is simple. Pen tool is best and a good skill to learn.

Thanks, I found out that I just need to disable the shadow effect in Appearance panel, thanks for your help.
