bathroom sign - [how to draw the figure]

This is a serious noob question. Anyone know of a tutorial for drawing the silhouette family figures you see (various places). One of the most recognizable spots is the signs on bathroom doors? I am assuming that this would be easy to just draw with shapes, but I dunno. I attached a photo to illustrate.

I think I could find a tutorial if I knew how to word it better. I don't even know what this is called that I am looking for. Silhouette family? Stick figure family? What are they called?

I don't know of any tutorial, but if you notice, they are all made of simple shapes: lines/rectangles and circles
turn on the grid, and then add and merge simple shapes (with the shape tool)
