Basketball manipulation test

Ok we keep getting requests on how the 'topaz' typed effect is done especially with basketball as the main theme.
I thought it would be nice for all of us to try anyway we like to achieve or get near to that infamous 'topaz' effect.

This image only please as it serves more than one purpose (basketball/women/disability within sport).

the key to making the so called topaz effect is using a high quality no noise image, do you not have a version that has no noise or a similar image ??

I agree with Hoogle that this is not good choice for a starting image for exactly the reason he stated. However, I also feel that the best images to be "Topaz-ified" are those that have only one or two main subjects, not a large number of smaller subjects, each with only a small amount of skin showing.

PS - pls hold ur comments on my comments about skin showing given that this is a woman's team. I couldn't figure any other way to say it.

Not happy with results....I did MJ awhile back with better results.

To be honest this image is not the best example to do the effect with I started it but must get on with other stuff, no where near the results you are seeking but to achieve them as stated you need better images more focus on just 1 or 2 people etc...

H the idea of this thread is to achieve that 'topaz' styled look using shop tools, the image is not perfect but even with the two replies the images are still showing that shop does get close and could be closer still with a better image, great work guys.
