I did this for a Photoshop Contest and was given the pencil and an eraser as the original image. I decided to leave out the eraser and put the pencil in the artist's hand as he/she held up the sketched front end of the Lamborghini. The car picture was from the Stance|Works feature "The Bagged Lamborghini Murcielago"and lined it up with the actual picture to make a final piece of this: (Comments and critiquing are welcome.)

this certainly is trending at the moment I have seen this technique used a lot lately even down to it being used in TV ADDS.

Good work I like it

Nice one! But i think if you tilt the sketch at little so the lines dosn't perfectly match up with the car it would look better, just my opinion thou!

Thanks Hoogle, Scracky and ibclare! I appreciate it.

What I was thinking is making it not so detailed and make it look more like a sketch. I’ll check to see what it looks like when the sketch is tilted and go from there. Good ideas though.

I read that wrong. I thought you were saying they were off alignment. I like your idea too, but the drawing turns real is cool.

Oh, I do have one other comment JR. How about putting a little curl on the paper above the thumb, just a small edge warp.
