Avatar Help

Hey all!

So I've been needing an avatar. Unfortunately, I'm too big of a noob to make a cool one. Anyone mind making me one that includes my username (jVestido) in large (shiny) letters, and it looks very sleek and very professional? Sort've like whats below. Second question, how did this guy do that? Its a part of his youtube intro. Would someone mind making a guide or just briefly showing me how to do something like this? Thanks!:lol:

Well. I was just wondering if it was a fast job. Could you explain to me how its done, anywho?

Here you go mate, not that pro at it but had a go.

Wow man, thanks a ton! How did you go about doing that?

New layer filled with blue, new layer on top with gradient set to overlay mix about a little. do the text on a new layer do the blends and setting to text as desired place, copy text pull corner tab down to pull underneath original text layer as a reflection, change opacity and settings to make it look like a reflection, new layer add little spots of light here and there blur if you want to, add lighting effect and blur again, i then merge all layers make a new copy and blend as overlay changing settings to get desired look.
Theres lots of ways to do this type of thing mine is probably the long winded way, but hey.
Glad you like it, others may do better ones.

THAT IS AMAZING! THANK YOU DUDE! How did you do that?????????

Ummmmmmmm, wasn't really paying attention as I did it.

Made a gradient background, then painted in a little blue and green. typed the letters, rasterized, added bevel and gradient, then made the reflection.
Painted some stars on a couple new levels, blurred them, then added a lens flare at the top.

Glad you like it. Forget what the font was, but thought it looked cool.

Apparently ASABORIO really liked my work, and said it was very professional. I don't know who that is, but thanks. It took 20 minutes, but....
whatever.

I was inspired by all the incredible photo manipulation work that so many members also did for free on request to new members.

Ok not what you wanted but I was Bored so had a play around as well

That's cool.

I like those jelly letters. I think mine was a little too literal.

it does look better uncompressed I have to say you know what its like though you play around and eventually you get something you like
