I just want to share my frustration here. No particular reason. I just want to get it out

My ( not really mine but borrowed) photo studio is gone. Speedlight, softboxes , all tripods, etc. went back to original owner so I’m stuck with nothing. Just dslr and 3 lenses. You know how had is to go back to just camera without even one light? Nothing seems right and every photo opportunity seems wasted because you can light it in the way you wanted. I know I can still use but it’s like coding page in notepad, switch to let’s say sublimetext and them back to notepad. You can still do it but it’s such a pain..

My Photoshop was removed from my pc at work and I can’t install it again at the moment. Time I can spend in front of it at home was taken by my brand new son and as awesome as he is he still doesn’t leave me a waking minute to work on my pc.

So every day at work I can feel my live slipping between my fingers since do I cant to ****, at home there is just no time and my camera feels so lonely at the moment without the rest of my tools.
Argh!:banghead:

Chin up mate...

Maybe use Gimp for the time being. But I know how hard it is to have a newborn.

You rnew born is a perfect opportunity to get camera time in at home you have the perfect subject and a studio not needed, Just patients required Even disposable cameras nowadays gives you good opportunities in that situation look on the bright side there is always better days ahead.Good luck!

I think you can look for used equipment if the new baby isn't draining your finances . . . what am I saying, babies take a bite, figuratively speaking, and literally. Plenty of people get into hobbies then drop them and want to get some of the investment back. Patience to find the right deal, but they're out there.

But I can sympathize. I would go nuts without PS to play in. I would have to resurrect my iMac with PS6. Better than not at all I suppose. Imagine looking for content aware and realizing it ain't there. But yeah, there is GIMP in the meantime. Someone might even have a copy of an older CS they want to sell. I almost bought CS3 used before I bit the bullet and bought CS5 new, but the CS3 wasn't compatible with my computer. So watch out for that.

It's hard when you have a tech crash like this but is also a good opportunity.

Sleeping baby shots taken in a darkened room by candle light with kitchen foil reflectors, so beautiful.

Yeah it's nice to have all the right gear and the time to use it, but some of the most iconic images were captured with eqpt more basic than even a modern disposable camera.

I was using my dslr for quite some time without any gear previously with success. So I know its fun. But the moment you get used to having flash with you all the time is really hard to go back to bare camera. I think it will still work out for the best anyway. Now that everything was taken away from me I have to take some steps to get my own equipment and believe am already trying. There was no reason to do in previously but now.. Hopefully in the matter of month I will have my own stuff.

If I want to get to another lever of photo manipulation in need controllable light environment. Waste of money and time to search and buy stock photos I you can make them yourself. Especially that the will never be exactly as you would like them to be. Can’t sell isolated object photos on stock myself without proper light, can’t make any more mock-ups of brochures and stuff without light. Can’t take proper portrait photos without light. But well everything is fixable with time

Its just that lack of Photoshop at work.. Dammit! My daily job got so boring without it (I sit in front of a pc anyway so it was always possible, now I just.. work .. such a waste of time ) and lack of time to work on it at home doesn’t help . My graphic/photo “job” is really on hold now. But I’m persistent and will get back on track;]
