Applications completely cross platform? Not Vaporware!!!

Could this be the solution to the platform wars?
I'm wondering what is the speed penalty...
And still, we would need another license of PS, if we want to use mac-only plug-ins on a PC machine...

Well I believe it is an exciting breakthrough. I've used Virtual PC for a couple of years to experiment with and run unported Windows graphic apps. While it works, the performance hit is significant, maybe as much as 60% in certain circumstances. Analysts who have experimented with QuickTransit report full functionality with 80% or more of the efficiency of the native platform. I think this is fabulous.

I do suspect that cross platform 'rider' applications such as plugins may not work seamlessly without the correspondingly coded application but that is a reasonable supposition on my part, I think. 8}

I will say that although the initial offerings are for servers, as soon as a version is sold for desktop use, I'll try it!

Indeed, we are concerned by perfomance hits, abut our machines are more and more performant... so it should be less of an issue...
