Paul, go to Tools - Extensions, have a look there to see if anything suspicious is running and disable it if so. Perhaps something you installed recently added an extension?

Yeah i just did a look around and found an extension called 'quickshare adware' gone now.
Thanks guys.

I somehow picked up claro toolbar. I supposedly uninstalled it, but it's still there. I have to go to my email and click a link to PSG or something online or it opens up complete with spam ads. I have no idea what it download it piggybacked with.

Yeah i used to run with the fox but reverted back to old habits:mrgreen:

as soon as you notice these things do a system restore to the last time the computer was running well , i also use errorfix and antimalware , both are linked and cost around 55 dollars i think , there is a 24 hour support and remote support for about 12 hours per day so you can have them take over your computer and get rid of rubbish like that , ive been using it for about 7 years and ive never had to take my computer to a shop once , they have worked on it a lot over the years , for some reason there are some ordinary reviews but ive had no problems and they have been nothing but professional every time

Thanks egosbar, I will definitely look into this. I think there are a few other issues they can help me settle such as other programs uninstalled, but not entirely uninstalled, and a few other minor things. Otherwise I do a Teamviewer with a local guy but he'll charge me an hourly fee, even if not outrageous. We'll see. I'll probably check with him first, but it's good to have an alternative that will stay busy in the background.
