I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to make this design?

Its a good idea for a Header Banner but it seems pretty complicated..

Tips are appreciated

any idea to the effect of the bars? I know how to make the lens flare effects but these highlines..im not sure about.

Hi Keenan,
Without a tutorial from the original creator of this effect, it could take hours of experimentation to figure out what steps were used to create the effect. Granted, a more experienced shopper might get there a bit faster but not without a little effort.

What bars? I see only one "bar like" component and that's the brightly lit one going across and in front of the rainbow polka dotted rectangle.

What highlines? Do you mean highlights?

Good communication helps. Visuals are even better!

This is what I refer to as a bar.....

Thats what I also refer as Bar and Higlights.

Well if we go apart from the smoke on both sides, and if I just want to create these Bar´s
with the Highlights..which steps would you suggest me to do for getting a similar result?

for example:

I've seen those energy wave looking things surrounding the bar made in after effects. Just Youtube "After Effects Soul Removal Effect" by Andrew Kramer (think that's how you spell his name), and you'll see how to make those. Other wise check out Evan Eckard's channel on youtube, he has a video titled "Easy Photoshop Tutorial: Simple Abstract Lighting Effect".
Other than that, it looks like that effect is done on one side and then copied and mirrored on the other side, and it looks like there is a hue gradient across the whole image, not just the bar itself. So keep in mind, that's something to do at the end, over the whole image rather than just applying a gradient over the bar it self, and then the background later/before. This also means you should just do the whole thing in black and white until the end, where you'll just put a gradient overlay on the whole thing (use tone then apply colour).
for the bar: draw out a rectangle with a stroke of 1 pixel (colour white), fill of white (with the fill set to 50% on the layer menu below the layer opacity settings), use a layer mask to get rid of the sides.

Hope this helps!

Keenan,

I sincerely apologize as I have had some major issues! Yesterday morning I was set to help you out and we were experiencing severe thunderstorms in our area! Lightning knocked out a node near my house and I lost cable, internet, and phone service! It was back up late last night but it was in and out!

Today it seems to be working. I made you a small video on how to make the bar. Since Google took over youtube, I have had some issues uploading videos! If it's not one thing it's another!

So, it's a little late, but here it is.........

Please accept my apology. Also, there are many ways to accomplish this effect.....this is only one simple way!

Your welcome, sorry it took so long.

I was looking for that tutorial yesterday to post for another member! I knew I had seen it somewhere!

Do you have any lens flare brushes? I think a nice lens flare would really look cool on this image!

Yey, I think i know how they exactly done it.

They are using vector pieces for the background.. play with the opacity and blend modes.

In a view days im going to Upload some results. :)
