hi, I have an idea for a gift for my husband but I'm quickly learning i'm way over my head. Can anyone help me with this? MANY THANKS even if you can't help but are simply reading on... :)

I'd like to make a tshirt (and probably a second mini-poster) that has the following on it:
That classic image of George C. Scott in the role of General Patton. I prefer the image where his right hand is saluting and his left hand is at his side holding a military baton. I'd like to change his left arm/hand so it is raised and holding a cup of tea on a saucer. (remove the baton altogether) The teacup would be placed just above his navel making, i believe, a very "formal" tea posture. The teacup, ideally, would be a classic teacup with some sort of floral pattern. Then, I'd like to replace the American flag background with a huge Canadian flag.

[And, if you're wondering why...my husband's surname is T-a-t-t-o-n. For years, I've heard him say "It's like Patton but with a T". Oh, and he's canadian.]

So, I guess my question is....can anyone help with this? or, is there some sort of software I should be trying?

Again, MANY THANKS. I think he will get a kick out of this

Hi and welcome to PSG.
You should post the images, the highest resolution images you have and explain image by image, what you want done.
I agree. It sounds fairly simple and I'd be happy to help.

Welcome to the site. :D

Yikes. I think I uploaded the images but they look v. big. Hope that is ok? I just grabbed some yahoo.images ....not sure if I should be getting them somewhere else. sorry--i'm very new to all this. But, I'm also a wannabe. Thanks.

It doesn't matter how big they are. I can always downsize them. However, if you're wanting to put this stuff on a T-shirt and a poster, it may need to be a lot bigger. But I can probably find some bigger pictures of this now that I know what pictures you're wanting. I'll give this a shot. But I'm working on 6 or 7 projects for clients right now so I don't know if I'll get it done anytime soon. So if someone else wishes to give it a go, they probably should. :D

Thats just a link to that site, no specific image loading...

(I may be sending this twice b/c I typed this out but it is unclear it if went....but that' ok b/c I'm REALLY THANKFUL!!!)

Paul: What a wonderful surprise to find this in my inbox this morning!! Thank you, thank you!! It is spectacular!!!

I've been on the phone already this morning trying to get it printed on a tshirt and on either a canvas or thick (maybe 1/4") paper. I'm doing the canvas/paper bc I'm sure he will want a conversation piece like this on his desk at work.

Really, i cannot thank you enough. This will be such a fun gift.

warmest regards,
Christine

Hello, again.

I've been working with different vendors to see about printing the image you created (again.... thank you, thank you). All are saying it is too small. When I enlarged it, it became too pixelated.

I went to the Apple store and, at their suggestion, loaded Pixelmator. But, that isn't helping me.

So, now I very humbly ask.....could you possibly help me rebuild the image (EXACTLY as you did it---it's brilliant!!) so the final product is larger? Again, the intention is to be able to get it printed on a men's tshirt and also on canvas (appox 8x10"). I will very gladly pay you for these services.

Thank you for any consideration you might give this request.

rgds,
Christine
