Seems like I'm the only one posting here lately, hope this means that everyone else is busy and not that I'm the only? dummy. }P

If I have a picture consisting of a number of layers and I want to change the colour of most of the layers how do I do it without flattening the image.

I thought I could just link the layers together but when I do? that the Image Adjustments are greyed out.

click on each layer and open blend options then to color overlay. then pick your color. Unless again I'm misunderstanding your question. It really helps when you post an example of some sort. Plus...
you're not a dummy. this forum is on the downside for some reason. just keep posting. RM

The question is whether you want to change all these layers to the same colour?

If so, you can just have the layers you want changed under the layer filled with the colour of your choice. Set this coloured layer to "Color" blend mode, as per the example below.

I'm having a bit of bother making this one work as you suggested.? I'm afraid the Blending mode isn't going to do it for me for what I want to accomplish.
To give you a bit more detail, I'm designing a fireplace from the ground up for a DIY project of mine.
I have the design I want but when I was constructing the hearth and some of the surrounds I? had to use quite? a few layers.
I'm wanting to use the Hue/Saturation tool to change the colour of the tiles in the hearth but to do each layer one at time is time consuming and I'm sure there has to be a better way.
Like I? said before I? tried to link the layers together...Whoa there betsy I've just figured it out thanks to you? lot you got my grey matter moving.
I just tried Shift clicking all of the layers I wanted to get them together and then when I right clicked I noticed merge layers.? I clicked on that and it worked I was able to do what I wanted to the colour scheme.? Afterwards I unlinked them with the History box.
Thanks fellows for all of your help and suggestions.
Just an aside, I noticed when I right clicked it said Merge Layers but when I went to the history box it said Link Layers for that action.? If I linked the layers the history box says the same thing.? ?Why would it work for merging layers and not for linking layers and why? does the History box record the merging as linking.
