Another "How do I Create this Effect" Request Please (wavy line)

Hi All,

I'm after some advise (for a complete Photoshop newbie) on how to create the following wavy line please?



I would like to recreate this image from scratch using my own colours as this is for a new website I'm working on (I normally do the coding side of a site rather than design), and I would be very grateful for some pointers.

I would personally do something like that in Illustrator, using the pen tool. If it then had to be in Photoshop, you can just copy from Ai & paste into a PS document.

If you don't have Illustrator, the Photoshop Pen tool is more than capable of achieving the above image. You could even load up that one & trace it using the Pen, as this always makes it easier.

I know people are worried about using the pen tool, but once you actually start, you'll see it's not that scary.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I was able to use the Pen tool and anchor points (plus guides) to create the outline of what I was after.

I now will spend some time working out how to do inverse selection so I can add images above the wave instead of a solid colour.
