Another before/after color correction...pirate ship at South Padre Island, Texas

Another one from last June. Still trying to figure things out in CS5 and my Intuos4 tablet. :)

EDIT: After posting it I realized it's still a bit dark. Needs more work but definitely looks better than the original.
 
The water feels a bit over contrasted and has a sort of unnatural HDRish feel to it. But otherwise looks like you managed to bring back a lot of exposure which is good.
 
I do not think it's too dark. In fact, I think you lost some of the richness of the sky and maybe some on the water. 5600 has a point. The water does have the brightness of HDR to a certain degree, but the rest of the photo , well the sky mainly, looks flat to me. And the boat in twilight wouldn't be perfectly clear.
