Annoying problem with Photoshop - Tool Sets

Hi All,
I'm currently having problems with the tool sets...i.e. the tools which have the black arrow beneath it (i.e. tool sets like the eye dropper and blur tool are part of a group of tools which you need to click and hold in order for Photoshop to reveal the different tools within the set for you to choose from)...

Now something happened to my photoshop settings and the tool automatically expands the tool set whereas before it would only expand it if you click and hold. Now it expands automatically if you click on it.

It doesnt sound like a big deal but it gets very annoying. For e.g. the tool is selected at the blur tool because one uses it alot or uses it repeatedly. In normal circumstances you simply click on the blur tool and use it immediately. However, photoshop is expanding the tool set automatically and you have to actually select the blur tool...I know it takes only one second to select a tool, but it is very distracting.

I'm not sure if that makes sense...

I've tried deleting the preference file and it hasnt solved it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

thanks

Did you close photoshop before deleting the preferences file? Hate when PS goes wonky.
Also under 'window'>'workspace' you can reset your workspace and that may give you some relief.

I ended up slowing down the double click speed in the mouse settings (in the control panel) and that solved the problem.
