Advanced Blending

I am new to photoshop and i am struggling with blending my renders correctly into the background. I am currently using gradient maps and adjustment layers to blend. Has anyone come across any advanced tutorials on blending or can give me any advice on blending. Here is an example of something I have been working on for practice.
