I need to show a admission post to my boss , i made this one , i don't know if its good enough , so your expert reviews would really help , if you feel its really horrible or want to make minor edits than pls feel free , i won't copy your picture though :)

Thank you .

regards .

Gautam.

Gautam, the question here is what is this being used for. Can you provide some background information on the project.

Thanks for asking Iansam , Well its just for a post on FB (403 * 403 px) to inform people that a pre-school is starting admissions , don't worry about the contact information , i need more information on the graphics :) if its good or bad or just ok .

Thank u for Ian

Gautam

Iansam , this is not a priority , can you please go and check my new thread , "1st Flyer" , because thats really urgent , just give me your inputs , nothing else .

Thank you .

Regards .

Gautam

To be more specific....

.... is this a flyer (or part of a flyer), website or news print ad ?

.... is this the final, output size?

Regardless whether an ad or flyer, you have to include pertinent details.... attention grabbing header, school and course identification, dates, deadlines, contact info... details in a nutshell, not only for the reader or viewer's information, but to get them involved with the activity being announced.

Its usually not a good practice to create the design without knowing the details then adding content later only to find that it does not match the graphics in your work. With the details in hand, you can build the design around it.

If its meant for a Newspaper Ad , color reproduction for newsprint is expensive. Black & White is the economical norm most especially for newsprint in your location. Sending the news agency a colored artwork for b&w reproduction can have negative consequences in terms of their output. You have to prepare the Black & White artwork version for proof print on a laser printer or hi-def printer or as hard copy to be sent off to them.

If its for a website, even if there's a write-up that goes with it, a few details won't hurt. The thing is, a properly done image with info details can even be used on its own.

You must also take into consideration the final output size in relation to its contents and the artwork's intended placement. Too much visual details (additional images even detailed images) is like noise. It clutters the artwork and eventually blends into the noise and clutter of its printed or viewable environment.

Sometimes, Visual Impact can be achieved with the fewest number of image components in the artwork. But you have to choose them wisely.......

Hey Div8 This is not really an important image , its just for a facebook post on one of the customers pages (Which will already have some details :) , But yeah i need to add some text too and i'll add that soon :) contact info , email everything will be added and yes there will be a write up along side the post too .

Ty for your inputs .

Gautam

Still, the web image comments made by dv8 should be taken to heart. He is right that any written info is necessary to place and sync with the image.

You are getting a whole lot of fabulous and pricey free info from him. He is a pro and one I often go to (my goto guy) for critique and advice, so take it to heart. We are all lucky to have him in forum administration.

I like the cartoonish aspect a lot and I think the image as is works well. I do think we need to know more. Again, you are not going to post this without text are you? Or is text going to be in the rest of the banner so this functions like a logo does?

If there is going to be text on the image, but you prefer not to share the details, you can always use the Latin Lorum Ipsum to put in approximations of the text just to demonstrate its position.

HOLY MOLLY ! 1600+ views ehem ehem lol , i taught this post was lost somehwhere in the forum , jst scrolled a few threads back and found it . anyways , Actually div , u'll laugh if i tell you what it is for , its for a facebook ad and yeah my boss did tell me that a few more detailed would need to be added , espically the contact details and so i did . Ibclair thank you for ur inputs and I could't agree more with you .

heres the final image . i know the text sucks , i could have done better , this edit was urgent so heres how it looked finally .

Thank you guys , for all of your interest :D

You're very welcome, but it came along a great way, so kudos to you.

One suggestion: feather the edges of the white box in the upper right hand corner and make it fade out to the sky. Or make the symbol into a transparency like the sun icon on the left which would mean deleting all the white from it.

No problem. I hope it works for you. (I'm pretty sure it will) I'm glad you came to us for advice on this one, and it's obvious you combined your own sense of it with the suggestions.

My only input would be give yourself more room around the edges as you have cut the foot off on the right side. Some of the components do not seem to have enough room.
Nice and bright though

I totally agree RM. I am surprised I didn't notice that. I am a bear about "white space." Thoings look cramped and awkward when there is not enough border and other elements aren't placed and balanced correctly.

Listen to him?us guatam and it will improve your output.

I will add that I admire your willingness to come ask and then to actually incorporate our ideas with yours. Keep up the good work.

BTW, yes, the right hand logo lokks much better now.

actually yeah ! if you look at this image , i do think its a bit cramped up .

@IB , actually i did realise that , i should restrain from including too many elements when the size of the canvas or image is very small and rather focus on adding few meaningful elements that convey the message clearly .

Nd thank you , ur small inputs here and there always help :)
