Help,

I'm trying to make something similar to this logo.
I tried typing text in path, but that did not wrap the text around the edges like in this picture.

Your help is appreciated.
Jay

Hi Jay, which version of Photoshop are you using? Photoshop CS2 has the warp tool (edit / transform / warp) that makes it easy to do things like this. You can also consider to use the pen tool, like I did in my attachment.
Other option is to use text warp, which is available since Photoshop 6 (can be found in the option bar at the top of your screen when the type tool is selected) and it can help you to come a long way in this particular example.

I thank you for your quick reply Gaussian.

Is there anyway to select the shape and have photoshop modify the text to fit it. Without me having to warp it manually.

My apple will have "going home" as the text.

If there was an easier way I would have told you don't you think? :P :D
No sorry Jay, what you want is not possible.

If you have access to Illustrator as well... it can do what you're asking for. Otherwise, Gaussian has the best bet methinks.

You can create text on a path. Draw the shape you want using vector tools (pen tool etc.), select the shape using direct selection tool and then use type tool; place the cursor over the shape and the baseline indicator changes, enter your text. Photoshop will fit your text along the shape. Letters will not be warped (distorted) though, it will just flow along the path.

other than using the 'warp text' tool as what Gaussian has mentioned, there are other ways of warping the text, manually.

1) Rasterize the text layer, some filters and painting tools do not work on text layers. After you resterized the text layer u can use transform tools to warp or distort the text whatever ways you want.

2) If you are working with vectors, you can convert text into vectors; Layer> Type> Convert to Shape.
