Specific Adding brick to a wall

Hello everybody,

my wife and i are building a first home, and would really apreciate your help.

Is it possible to add bricks like there are on the wall to the plaster box on the right side of our fireplace (the part where the box is sticking out of the brick wall)? We need to make a decision whether to put the bricks on this box or not...

Here's my try - that brick perspective was a challenge. I added an ash clean out door and swept up a bit.
The brick certainly does look better.
