Hi

I am wanting to edit some football kits for a Football management game and have downloaded a pack of kits to edit myself and whilst having a look at what other people have made and how they did it I noticed that they have every single kit in the layers bar whereas i have just the individual one that i opened so my question is how do i add all the .psd files from this pack along with each files subfolders ??? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Sounds like the images are flattened and you want them all in one document. There is probably an action out there to import them into one psd but I do not know of it try searching actions just a thought

without wanting to sound like a complete "photoshop noob" (although i am  ) could you tell me where actions is located?

Not sure if there is a limit, but what I think you could do is put all the images that you want in one PSD file in a folder, open one of them in Photoshop and then go back to the folder where the images are, select the ones that you want then drag them over and drop them in they will Automatically be on their own separate layers but like I said I don't now if there's a limit. Your memory RAM may determine that I'm not sure

They're all .psd files though not image files, i tried opening them through bridge but it opened them as images and they were all distorted

Those are grouped layers in sets hence the folders. Click on the arrow next to folder icon to see the contents. You can either delete the folder only (not with contents) or maintain the folder sets.

Hang on i'll just try and do a screenshot

this is the folder with all the files in, i want to be able to put all the .psd files into the layer bar rather than just have one .psd files in the layer bar

Open one click and drag all the others and drop them on opened image you're done all in one file

those shirts are pretty cool did you do those?

oh BTW the image drop on image

Haha i wish, na mate they're off a forum for editing Football Manager, it's so you can design your own kits and put them in the game.

It's still just opening up every file individually, does it matter what version your using because i'm only using CS3?

havent use cs 3 in some time but you're probably right

What I did was open two side my side, choose the move tool (keyboard shortcut v) and simply select the group and pull it into the other document. Keep both folders closed. You can repeat this process until you have them all in one document.

And BTW, for the sake of clarity, it is called the layers panel, not the layers bar.

Hope this helps.

Also, you may want to be sure your guides are setup to help with repositioning. When you copy and paste a layer it will be in position. But as far as I know, you cannot just duplicate a group (?anybody?). So when you move it over to the other psd file, it will not be positioned. If you have the guides marked with a clear center, you can line them up properly. I assume your shirt docs are all the same size. If not, then "make it so!"
