I make proof books using Blurb but when I do I have to resize every photo to prevent the rectangular images from being cropped. Blurb's rather clunky 'BookSmart' software cannot automate this and so I'd like to run a Photoshop action (with a Droplet for ease of use) to make each image square -without cropping the subjects out, naturally.
So far all of my attempts to a. create and action that can correctly center each (vertical and horizontal) image, and b. create a droplet that actually saves and closes each image have resulted in failure and frustration.
No matter what I do I can't get past the save dialog box, nor can I figure out how to make a rectangular image square.
Help!!
