Does anyone use Filezilla? Any other FTP suggestions for PC? I used to use an old Mac-based FTP and never had any problems (the one with the puppy, but my iMac is too old and it won't accept the files). It was so straightforward. I've used Filezilla before and successfully, but I have tried uploading my files to the correct site, choosing different remote site ways to load it, etc., etc. I reviewed their instructions online. I still can't get anything but broken images and the html is screwed up. For instance, I get the homepage broken image and the alt, but nothing else, no text, no links, etc.

I use Dreamweaver and I have gone over all the links and folder assignments. In the browser check, it works fine. But . . .

Any help is appreciated.

I want to get this up very soon so I can get a move on my side business. It's a very simple site with a few hotspot links and rollovers. I am not used to DW now since the last version I used was DW3. Eventually I want to change it to make it more sophisticated. I will be updating most all the images every month. So in the meantime I am banging my tech challenged head to figure this out.

Yeah. I'm stubborn and was sure I could figure it out. I went to the site and saw the forum link. I think I will take your suggestion. Tomorrow. I'm done trying to figure it out myself. I really think I'd like to find an FTP that is more clare-friendly though.

Ah-ha! Now we're getting to the root problem. Tell me, how does that make you feel? You may want to consider a session here:

:bustagut::bustagut: The hell with file the zilla, fetch the ball, putty the windows, WinSCP! . . . that eliza needs help! Looks like she might be on the right site though. Is there an answer? What are neurotoys? But she is right about one thing: is it normal to be an on-line moderator? Tell us Paul Expiring minds want to know!

Tom, I used Fetch; it took me waking up with a fresh head to pop the name. I like Putty. It's like mud and it's 5 letters like fetch. Win's answer to fetch maybe? I'm old school but I'm trying to learn CSS Style Sheets. Following the template DW makes gave me a headache. Once I get some clients rolling in, I'll "re-up" with lynda.com. They have made a great difference for me and brought me to the forum (hmmm, but is it normal to have become a mod?) as I progressed in my understanding of more PS. Thanks for the suggestions. And if anyone is wondering why I don't use DW's built-in FTP, I have tried it and it won't work. I think I just need to reload DW and see if the bug is still there.

No one ever does:cry:

No kidding . . . sigh. Now Paul, stop your whining (you sound like me). You seem like the perfect moderator to answer eliza's question. So?

So I received one reply from an admin there Paul. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and let y'all know if it solves the problem. I may just become an expert in ftp, since I now have used 5! Or tried to use the last 2 anyway and trouble with no. 3, sigh . . .
