A real Newbie Question...

Ahh...don't be sad. This was one of my main problems too (together with transparancy).

Just see it like this:
The Image menu contains options to change the image. So if you flip the image, you flip all layers that it contains. Infact, what you want to do is editing. Therefore you take the Edit menu and there you find Transform. In there you find, amongst others, flip horizontally and flip vertically.

Finally someone asked!!!!
[excited]

Don't be too hard on yourself James we have all been there and that is why we are now here

Erik you have just been waiting for someone to ask that question haven't you? :bustagut: :bustagut:

Indeed I have!
You won't believe how I searched and suffered before finding this out...

The other thing was transparancy. Difficult to believe right now, but I had been getting my poes wet in Photopaint, and that app does have a great transparancy tool. Which I didn't find in Photoshop...
