Hi

I took this picture in trondheim, Norway some years ago and afterwards i fooled around with it in Photoshop. (sigh! :D)

I'm rarely satisfied with my own work, but I like this one.
What do you guys think?

I seems I can't find the original.... :(

The picture was in color, so I have desaturated the area around the bike. I have also, as it looks, probably done some filtering on a layer and used blend mode(s) on the layer above.
Worth trying; Make a duplicate of the layer, apply some filter on the bottom layer (gaussian blur is often used used) and then try some blend modes on the top layer.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't :bustagut:

Looking at the picture now, on a better monitor, I notice that I have posted an overcompressed version of the picture.
It has a bit to much contrast in this version.

Just looking at the shot I think it looks pretty good. The composition is pleasant and also the repetition of the bike on the asphalt works very well. The background on the right is distracting, but that could be fixed with some background blur to imitate depth of field.
I think the Photoshop effect is going in the right direction (object colored, the rest B&W), but there is not enough details in the highlights and shadows and shadows. Did you set the B&W point of your monitor?
