Hi, i recently took the photos for my friends wedding, i took some in raw and some as highest jpegs on a nikon D80. i then processed them and after i chose some photos to make a collage in photoshop. i havent got a printer so have to rely on shop printing, i cannot find anywhere that print anything other than jpeg, so had to save the file as a jpeg.
Photoshop would not let me save the collage as anything other than 8 bit, when i got the photo back it was really pixelated and not sharp even though the idevidual photos are sharp and crisp even when blown up. Does anyone know how to save as more than 8 bit and would this have caused the printing problem?

The problem seems as if it your collage that you made, what was the size and resolution of this document? If you had it at 72PPI that is your problem, for printing the standard is 300PPI

Your pixelation oroblems it hasn't nothing to do with 8 bits. It occurs when the image size is too smal. You have 2 kind of sizes in Digital Imaging: Screen size (72 Pixels per inch) and Printed Size (Document 300 dots per inch). The first one looks always bigger and the second one much smaller when rendering out the images.

You where working with small pictures. That happened.
