Hi to all,
I'm trying to reproduce a sphere that looks like the one in the poster in this pic :
PosterAVAF2012-NEWCODES_1.jpg

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to do it and it's probably way above my skills. But eh, if I don't ask the experts I'll know !

It's just for a college project, we've been working on a digital arts festival project and we wanted to use a pretty and cool digital art shape as something basic. If anyone has one hanging around or can suggest where I can download one I'd really appreciate it ! It's absolutely not for commercial use.

Thank everyone for your help

wouldnt use photoshop for this, but

make a 3d sphere,
then take the triangles, just put them on there manually, then delete the sphere

and we shouldn't be making your art class work for you.

Wow thanks ! That's just perfect :)

Also thank you for the reply but I am not an art student, I'm doing an MBA that doesn't require to be a little creative, this is just the poster to illustrate the project. We can ask anyone to do it for us, we just chose the DIY option as we have basic knowledge in photoshop and it's a way of learning.

And to Colleague : thanks again !

hmm, I've thought about that solution, but it's not the same as the poster.
If you look closely, you can see the triangles are not curved with the surface of the sphere, they are all flat individually
