Hey i rescently started meshing some sims 3 cloths and heck why not post it
for ppl to see, Its still fairly simply made, but did make me learn the basics to start creating my own.
The shirt is a basic top body mesh which i worked a bit to much on lol. The texture on it is a design
which i edited to fit my mesh.
The skirt is a basic bottom skirt mesh which i edited to be open and just used as a belt now.
Making the skirt was the hardest had to make it a 2 sided face mesh, which is more easily said then done.
Got some great help from ppl to be able to make it. And still have some tweaking to do on both the meshes. The meshing was done with milkshape.
Like it or not? Here is the image.

Can this thread be moved to showboard?

It's 3D ... I guess it should stay here.

Looks good. How many polygons?

Is it ia stand alone object? I ask this coz I use other 3d programs . I wonder how that would look on a 3d human model I use.

Polygons, The shirt has 2990, and the skirt 964.
Yes the mesh can be standalone. when using it in game means putting the
shirt or skirt.simgeom/(meshfile for sims) together with other files in a file
called a '' ExampleShirt.Package '' file. But milkshape can export the mesh
to other file extensions, and from there it can be used for other stuff.
(see image)
What sort of file extension would be good?
O yea and normally for making the mesh a complete game item, there are 3 detail
versions of the same mesh in the .Package named lod 1, lod 2 and lod 3.
So far im using it only with lod 1 (the highest detail version) of the mesh.
This means it will be a bit slower in game, which to me doesnt mather much.
But will make the lod 2/lod 3 later.

That looks awesome! Makes me want to pick up playing Sims 3 again. I spent way too much time designing the house before I even began playing, so it might not be such a good idea, but man that game is so much fun :D

''blush'' thx. And well the designing i see as the beauty of the game. To me the game itself is pretty
good, and though it still has a unique thing to it, but there are better games. And it aint always
easy, but you can almost completly make the game look like you want it to look like.
And thats a nice thing i think.

It's not tailor-made for the biped I use, that's for sure... have to bring out the tailor in me.... lol...

Had to scale both objects down to fit. Quite large when I loaded them in. Can't pose, which means I have to rig dem bones. Maybe create a few transparencies here and there to unhide parts especially the chest area and hands. UV map so we can texturize the outfit.

A lot of work which maybe I can do in my spare time. I'm kinda slow with rigging these things.

OVERALL .....

This looks goooooood... a very promising fantasy oufit if I can get it to fit. Not to the figure I used for the render but to a hi quality 3d human figure. I don't have her loaded in my cpu at the moment.

Can I play and tweak it to the max so it can fit the new character I'm experimenting with for the 3d model figure?

Good work , shurgard ....

A bit late but first i should do my referring for the stuff i used and edited.
- top body mesh - http://nene.sexysims2.com/member.php?u=987068
- top texture - http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:17203

The refferring to the original modder/designer is mostly the only thing designers ask for
editing there stuff. To me, even the referring stuff aint that imprtant yet.
I would just be happy if the stuff i created out of it, would make the clothing a bit less dull
for the modding/designing community.
So to put it simple, go ahead and alter it in any way you want, though im not that handy
with the Poser program, just let me know if i can do something.
PS. the pic of your model looks good, especially the hair.

Hey thanks. As I said I'm slow in rigging these things.

That's the promo image from the 3d character creator's product page. Haven't gotten around to experimenting with it fully. I'll post a sample render later when I get to load it in.

Thanks again.
