3D 3d files from 3D Studio Max to CS5 extended - HELP!!

I need your help. I bought a library of models created in 3D Studio Max with vray and haven't been able to import the meshes with their mtl files and jpeg texture maps into cs5 extended. I was able to import the meshes as a 3ds file but was limited to the number of faces and the resultant quality was hit or miss. I could also import obj files as a single mesh comprised of what should have been several separate meshes. In both cases without a connection to their mtl files or their jpeg texture files. I heard that there is a vray plug-in for photoshop. Would that help and if so where can i get it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So far this is what it feels like!! :banghead:

why not render it out in studio max and then import the image into photoshop, you can render it as a png alpha channel if you want a transparant background. You will find 3ds max will do a far better rendering than photoshop will.

Thanks for your quick response. The problem is, as I should have explained, is that I need to composite the imported 3D objects with a 2D photo and I find it easier to combine the two (perspective, lighting, etc. ) easier in Photoshop with which I'm a lot more familiar.

Then a png alpha channel will surely work you can crop and resize and change perspective in photoshop to your original image.

or create a floor and background in studio max using your image as a texture then you can model in real time around your image.

3D Max studio is the most powerful tools for 3D animations. As the adobe launches it's new version CS5, which includes new tools, color patterns and techniques to set up new designs. Although the layout of the new version is quite friendly as compare with old versions. By the way introducing new version also very helpful for the users who really want to learn new techniques very quickly.
