Went to the shooting range twice this weekend and on the second day had the honor of shooting an M1 Garand. As I was waiting my turn to shoot, decided to snap some pictures around the range. I think these ones came out alright. Luckily the lighting was nice since it had rained not long before I went out.

Thank you. Yep, it's a pretty nice gun :D It can use .223 and mil spec .556 ammo so it's very versatile.
I love rifles but I'm probably going to get a handgun soon too.

I sometimes think of joining the army but honestly I would rather be in an art related area than infantry!
I would have a blast in basic I bet though. I do love me some guns.
 
Currently I only have a Marlin 60 and the rifle I have pictured up there, a Smith&Wesson M&P15 Sport. I am saving up for a Sig P226 as I just turned 21 and can legally buy a handgun in Texas now (:

My boyfriend's friend has about 20 something guns (that's his estimate... I'm sure he has more) and lets my boyfriend and I shoot them for free at the range. It's awesome. I've shot an FAL, 1911, three AR 15s, M1 Garand, Sig P226, FNP .45, CZ-75 SP-01, and of course, my Marlin 60. Our friend is saving up for a .50cal Barrett and I will get to shoot it when he gets it - SO looking forward to it.
 
I used to go shooting round at my ex-wifes family's farm in Northern Ireland, just snipe and pheasants and other birds. I was a bit gutted that I got there a few months after they did the ostriches.
 
I love animals too much to go hunting. I would do it if my life depended on it or if it was a species that was damaging to the environment, like hogs in Louisiana, stuff like that. Otherwise I just like target shooting (:

I don't hate on people that do like to hunt though. I always hope that hunters eat what they kill so it won't be just a senseless shooting for fun. To each their own though!
 
Jess are you a vegetarian by chance? I ask because I am one and I could never bring myself to hurt an animal unless there was just cause.
 
I was a vegan and then a vegetarian a few years ago. I was super unhealthy though. I don't eat too much meat still though. Mainly just veggies and fruit.

I used to love boca burgers... I kind of miss eating them.

Who says I wouldn't shoot anyone? I would if my life depended on it! My guns are also for self defense... crazy world we live in.

Ohhh but, the funny thing is that it happens so rarely here in the countries where guns aren't allowed that some people break in to your house and shoots you.. I think actually the fact that people try to buy guns for protection just makes things worse, but what do I know xD I've tried to shoot with a rifle before though, I think it's loads of fun :D

It's actually proven in studies that the places in the U.S. with strict gun laws have more crime. It makes sense if you think about it... the criminals are not going to abide by the law, so they have free reign to try and steal, kill, etc. from people who can't have firearms to defend themselves. It's easy pickin's. I can see it being different in other countries though.

Think about it: if you were a thief, would you go to the area where people have guns to shoot back at you or would you go to the area where there are no guns allowed?


Yes, shooting is super fun! The first gun I shot was a rifle and I definitely prefer them over handguns.

Nice, judging by the red tips, you were using tracers?

never would have thought you to be the type to own weapons of that... calibre shall we say? :P

Handguns are illegal in our country, sucks eggs. this has inspired me to post up my future birthday present anyhow ;)

They weren't tracers, just ballistic tips.
The M1 Garand is a friend's gun, wish it was mine though! Although I would constantly be poor buying that expensive ammo..
I love shooting high caliber guns.. I can make fun of guys who are too scared to shoot 'em :D
And also tell females that there's nothing to fear!

Future b-day present? Do share.
 
i can't believe i've only just come across it was what i meant, sorry.

ooh aye, just had another look the red on the tip would be more substantial if it was a tracer, can you tell i'm tired :P

I love firing Firearms all together, fired a couple getting my ow air rifle for my birthday (that's pretty much all you can get down here, even then you need to have a safe for it that's bolted to a brick wall)
I'll post up my dream rifle, and the one i'm getting on another thread later.

showing up the men is always good fun, especially the cocky ones :P
